Yesterday's Evening Standard headlines read, "Star Wins Football Award". On further reading it transpired that the newspaper were reffering to Steven Gerrard winning the Football Writers' Association Player of the Year award.
It would have been weird if anyone other than a "Star" won such a prestigous award but I guess the paper just wanted to remind us that Gerrard was a star.

Sorry to disappoint you but the "star" may be a reference to his diving antics (hands and legs thrown out), for which most call him a "starfish".
Haha good one Ayan. :D
Giggs 11, Gerrard 0
@Ayan - Rich, coming from someone who most call a stick insect.
@Couch-Side - Congratulations, you learnt how to count.
not sure if Benitez has yet.
@Couch-Side - Its bloody difficult to count the insane number of times Ronaldo dived this season. That's for sure.
ya and just as difficult to count the number of fouls from Carragher that went unpunished.
@Couch-Side - If you say so. Maybe it is difficult for someone with newly acquired counting skills. I wouldn't know.
