Of Recessions and Pee

Following on from my last post, I am happy to report that law firms are now considering offering associates a four day week on reduced salary. This is just the kind of thing I was talking about when I said that the recession is an opportunity to rethink the way we live our lives. A four day week means less money (and yes, you'll probably have to settle for a mere £500 pound suit) but more time to travel, spend with friends and generally think. If this is one of the effects of the recession, I am all for it.

In more interesting news, if you log on Google from the Dubai airport you will have to type from right to left. This was a disorienting and fun experience.

I read somewhere that Microsoft was thinking of modifying its "press any key" command because too many Americans could not find the "any" key.

The sign above the toilet on my Emirates flight was rather demanding. It read, "Lavatory- 5 ML". Now I know I have a fast metabolism (and a Greek god body to boot) but 5ml seems to be too harsh a limit on anybody's pee.

Though technically, 'ML' would be a Mega and not a milli, which would be an ml; acc SI ;)

heh. fun post. i'm kinda glad i'm a literature student. that way i can opt to become a teacher if worst comes to worst and i'll still get paid because schools aren't shutting down anytime too soon.

In all the pantheon of Greek Gods, we would be hard-pressed to find a five-foot tall one.

@ಕವನ/little boxes- ah, so that's it. That's cleared up then.

@Doubletake- I am eventually going to be a teacher. 3 months off a year. bloody cool.
