Of Zimbabwean Handshakes

I have long maintained that politicians are an unique breed, separate and distinct from the human race. Dr. Parirenyatwa, the Zimbabwean health minister amply illustrates my point: Zimbabwe is rapidly running out of clean drinking water in the wake of a cholera epidemic which has claimed 425 people and infected at 11,000. Instead of admitting that Robert Mugabe's ridiculous policies have reduced the country's ability to react to zilch, the good doctor blames the institution of handshaking for the spread of the epidemic. He says, and I quote, Although its part of our tradition to shake hands, its high time people stopped shaking hands. End quote.

In other news my sanity is being questioned by people around me because I'm planning to wildcamp through a 100km. walking tour of the Isle of Wight this new years holiday. It's not my fault all the "official" campsites are closed during winter because of the cold.

Wasn't your sanity always in question? Isn't that why people love you?

Why do you write "End quote" instead of putting quotation marks? You like to pretend it's a speech?

@Jayantika- Don't quite know what to do with that?

@Sryon- I like to pretend that my life is a speech where I give gyan and people respectfully listen.

Just like a politician! Hah!
About the camp, won't you freeze?! Although it sounds very exciting, doubtless.

I think thats the only way you can get the desired result, i.e. by pretending. Because I dont think anyone is respectfully listening.

@Pratiti- Yes, sadly I will. That and a cost overrun has meant I have had to postpone it to summer.

@Suhrith- What rot. People pay to hear me talk. Sometimes they even pay for my mere presence.
